Welcome to this study!

Dear participant,

This study aims to explore the experience of gender-based violence, the well-being and surrounding circumstances of females of African origin. There is only very little known about this particular group of people and we want to better understand their well-being and needs.

The survey will look at the experience of three specific forms of violence that mainly concern women. These are child marriage, forced prostitution and female genital circumcision/cutting. The questions don’t go very deep but ask more about underlying circumstances. You don’t have to have experienced any of the forms of violence to take part in this study because it covers aspects about your mental and social well-being in general.

This study is anonymous, so your personal data won’t be able to be traced back to you. You can skip a question at any time or stop the questionnaire altogether if you don’t want to continue. There are no negative consequences for you, if you drop out or don’t answer a question as the study is fully voluntary. It will take you about 15-20 minutes to complete this survey. Please note that even if you stop the survey before it is completed, the answers you have given up to that point will be saved.

If the subject of this study impacts you negatively on an emotional or psychological level you can reach out to one of the organisations listed below for support and/or counseling.
